BT Total Censorship

Well, it turns out BT have decided to censor their broadband fora and remove all traces of discussion about the vile Phorm/webwise system by which they planned to spy on all their customers' internet habits.  Their somewhat pathetic announcement can be read here.

There have been several threads to which all messages concerning Phorm/Webwise have been consigned.  Messages elsewhere concerning Phorm/Webwise get edited to remove such references.

So while my posts have been censored to remove references to Phorm, at least I've not so far been banned, as have some contributors to the debate.  You can read about the ongoing situation at the NoDPI forum.

So, what does this mean?  A last ditch effort to suppress dissent and discussion prior to the full launch of Phorm data pimping?  Or perhaps they are about to drop their ill-advised dalliance with this vile crew of former spyware merchants?

I dare say the truth will come out in time.

Here is a link to the post that may have precipitated BT's action. It contains many useful links about Phorm.
